PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY – An industrial wind turbine project in southern Prince Edward County is losing its race against the Blandings Turtle.
In a decision released Monday at noon, the Ontario Court of Appeal reversed a lower court ruling regarding a Renewal Energy Approval (REA) of the nine-turbine Ostrander Point industrial wind project.
The Prince Edward County Field Naturalists have been fighting the development since 2008 and Monday’s decision marks the end of their third battle before the courts in a bid to stop the project.

A former Tipton County commissioner shared her experiences with wind farms this week, as one of the final steps in bringing a proposed wind farm to fruition in Fayette County is expected to take place in the near future.
Those experiences detailed by Jane Harper, who served as Tipton County commissioner from 2009 to 2012, range from being a one-time supporter who voted for wind farms to now an advocate against such projects.

The CCA supports the status quo for wind turbines. The CCA did not recognize that wind turbines operating in quiet rural communities produce the most significant adverse health effects. This study should not have been hobbled by competing government responsibilities; wind-turbine development incentives, site permitting, and protecting public health. Academic participation does not foster credibility when commissioned to perform consensus building.

Queensland National’s Senator, Matt Canavan gets it. An economist by trade, having worked for the Productivity Commission, he’s got a head for facts and figures. Matt’s reasoned musings have graced the pages of STT a couple times:
Wind industry told that dB(A) unsuitable to measure LFN emissions from wind turbines
Wind industry informed of how to predict annoyance from LFN emissions from wind turbines at Windpower ’87 Conference. Kelley explains how to measure LFN emissions that annoy neighbours of wind farms. Read more

With more than 300 wind turbines, officials say they’ve had enough
Local officials at Michigan’s ground zero for wind energy are telling wind developers “enough is enough.” Huron County has 328 wind turbines, more than all of the other Michigan counties combined. But it has just enacted a moratorium on any additional ones until stricter regulations for industrial wind turbines can be put in place.

British schoolchildren are being brainwashed by a deep green environmental curriculum which fills their heads with “confusion, ignorance and fear”, says a new study by the Global Warming Policy Foundation.
The report, by science writer Andrew Montford and statistician John Shade, finds that “eco-activism” has been given free rein within schools for at least three decades. Children are being encouraged to become “little political activists” with a duty to “save the planet” not least by putting pressure on their parents.

From the Science and Public Policy Institute, three essays by Michael Crichton that are ‘must reads’ for anyone wondering how the hell the myth of Global Warming has taken hold in the minds of so many people. I’ve been saying for a very long time that Anthropogenic Global Warming is the new world religion, as it was built on fear mongering, doomsday predictions, tithing, blind faith and persecution of heretics.
