Offshore Alert! Lake Erie Energy Development Corp. and Freshwater Wind

Offshore Alert! Leedco’s First Fresh Water Lake Energy Scam energizes international watchdog agencies: More resolve that the Great Lakes are NOT doomed to become another “green energy basket case”

“WHOSE MONEY IS BEING SPENT ON A PROJECT THAT HAS NOT EVEN BEEN APPROVED, AND WHY IS DRILLING OF THE LAKE BOTTOM BEING PERMITTED AT THIS STAGE?” —Suzanne Albright, Great Lakes Wind Truth

Great Lakes Wind Truth (GLWT) executive member Al Isselhard suggests, based on experience fighting GLOW , “Tell Ohioans about noise, flashing red lights at night, helicopter maintenance noise, nacelle fires due to lightning strikes, oily fluid leaks into the lake, foghorns, property devaluation, bird slaughter, ice throw, rusting towers- all the bad things they will become victims of. Tell them the LEEDCo project is merely a prototype for future aggressive offshore wind factories that will amount to hundreds, maybe thousands of turbines in Lake Erie, transforming the lake into an enormous industrial complex for the rest of their lives”.

Sierra Club has ignominiously supported wind power in the Great Lakes, but some Sierra Club comments are now reflecting serious cautionary notes about the possible environmental and wildlife damages.

More of the same with this Liberal Provincial government; wasteful, high handed, over the top, and totally out of touch with everyday life of Ontarians. Spending our money as though it was a just and given right. Have any of ministers taken a trip to rural Ontario to see what a WIND FARM looks like!? One thinks not, power lines are one thing that changes the landscape in a uniform fashion, turbines are spread like white sentinels with arms flying in the face of those of us who wish to live the rural quietude of the country life.

The hundreds of millions that have gone like a puff of smoke in the wind… without fiscal responsibility, or question, is without doubt at the door of those same Ontarians who democratically voted the Liberals to power.

May the majority of us awake to the reality that it is neither just nor right that our water resources and agricultural lands should be given as a gift to behemoth business.

    Yours,
    Nan Neill
